Policies & Frequently Asked Questions

Cancellation Policy

I respectfully ask you provide a 24-hour notice of any schedule change or cancellation request.  Please understand that when you cancel or miss your appointment without providing a 24-hour notice I could be unable to fill that appointment time.  This has a negative impact on your therapist and other clients in need of services.  For this reason, you will be charged 50% of the service fee for the missed session and 100% of the service fee for each session after that.  I also reserve the right to require a credit card number to be given to book future appointments so that appropriate fees may be charged if a late cancellation does occur.

I understand that emergencies can arise and illnesses do occur at inopportune times.  If you have a fever, a known infection, or have experienced vomiting or diarrhea with 24-hours prior to your appointment time, I request that you cancel your session. Inclement weather may also result in the need for late cancellations.  I will do my best to give advanced notice if I am closing or need to cancel due to bad weather and I ask that you do the same. Please do not risk your own safety trying to make your appointment. Late cancellations due to emergency, illness, or inclement weather will generally not result in any missed session charges, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Late Arrival Policy

I request that you arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time to complete any required paperwork as well as answer any intake questions you or I may have.  I understand that issues can arise that may cause you to be late for your session; however, I ask that you call and inform me if this occurs so I can do my best to accommodate you.  Appointment times are reserved for each client, so oftentimes we cannot exceed that reserved time without making the next client late.  For this reason, arriving after your appointment time may result in loss of time from your massage or lesson thus your session may still end at the originally scheduled time.  Full service fees will be charged even if the sessions are shortened due to late arrival.  In return, I will do my best to be on time, and if I am unable to do so I will add time to your session to make up for the late arrival or adjust the service charge accordingly.

Inappropriate Behavior Policy

Massage therapy is for relaxation and therapeutic purposes only. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation, or request otherwise will result in immediate termination of your session and a refusal of any and all services in the future.  You will be charged the full service fee regardless of the length of your session.  Treat your therapist with respect and dignity and you will be treated the same in return.

Dressed or Undressed for Massage

People commonly ask how much clothing to remove during a massage. Your level of clothing is completely up to you and your comfort level. You will be conservatively draped at all times, ensuring that you never feel exposed and draping is only removed on the areas that are being massaged. Some clients are comfortable being completely undressed while others prefer to leave on undergarments. Some clients will be more comfortable with some articles of clothing on. Any of these options are completely acceptable.

Sports massage is usually conducted in sports attire as the massage is usually very specific and getting undressed is usually unnecessary and can inhibit the therapist’s ability to target specific areas.

Gratuity

Gratuity is completely up to you. While tips are not mandatory by any means, they are appreciated. Massage is an important part of your wellness routine. If finances are an issue, do not feel obligated to tip.
